Business Applications/Interviews

Applications accepted during the Summer quarter – Interviews are conducted with BEDC staff to complete each application. Interviews can be scheduled from July to September. Applications are reviewed by the BEDC Advisory Board and business clients are selected in early October. |
Business Advising Day
November |
This event maps out the year for participating businesses. Business clients meet with lawyers and risk management advisors, and with mentors from the Seattle Rotary Club to help open connections. |
Finalizing Consulting Contract
October to December
|
The BEDC Director meets with business clients to finalize a consulting contact that lists the final deliverables BEDC will provide businesses. |
Kickoff Meeting
January
|
BEDC hosts an evening meeting on the UW campus as the official start of the consulting project. This is first time business owners meet and begin working with their consulting team— a successful kickoff is critical to a successful consulting process. Following this meeting, clients meet on a weekly basis with their team. |
Student Presentations and Evaluation
March
|
In March, students make an oral presentation of their final report. Through this presentation two things happen: students receive a grade and client work transitions from the student team to the alumni advisors and rotary mentors with the focus on implementation rather than planning and analysis. |
Final Evaluation Reports
June
|
Business clients complete and submit an evaluation of the impact generated by the BEDC Business Assistance Program at the conclusion of the consulting program. |
