MBA Consulting Opportunities for the 2008-2009 Academic Year
MBA Field Study Program
The Field Study Program allows you to engage a team of second-year MBA students for a two-quarter (autumn/winter or winter/spring) project. Students are supervised by a faculty advisor. Companies pay a fee of $5,000 plus expenses to cover program costs. These projects can address domestic and/or international issues, and can be structured to address almost any business challenge. Utilizing their training in management, finance, marketing and technology, the teams develop recommendations for solving strategic problems, enhance organizational effectiveness and competitiveness, and explore and evaluate new business opportunities. Past clients include Starbucks, T-Mobile, Attachmate, Captaris, Expeditors International and Microsoft. Contact Gordon Neumiller at 206.543.0964 for more information.
MBA Business Consulting Network
The BCN is a student-run consulting network. Companies may submit projects during autumn quarter. All project work takes place January through March. Work is completed by teams. First-year student teams have access to guidance and training from professional consulting firms including Accenture, Ernst & Young, and Deloitte & Touche. Recent clients have included Philips Medical, Paccar Financial, Fluke Networks, Microsoft, Immunex and Alaska Airlines. Clients are asked to contribute $1,250 to this student organization to reimburse students for project-related expenses. Email mbabcn@u.washington.edu for more information. Visit the BCN website.
Individual Projects
Many students seek project work on an individual basis throughout the academic year. Please contact the BCC to post potential project work (206.685.2410 or bcc@u.washington.edu)
