The Global Business Center is proud to host a variety of internationally-focused conferences and competitions with our local, regional, and national partners. Choose the event below for more information on each.

IKEA International Case Competition, January 17, 2008
An annual UW-only competition in which teams of undergraduate business students apply their knowledge and skills to a real-life international business problem. Corporate and faculty judges evaluate team analyses and recommendations based on their diagnosis of the problem, application of theory and classroom concepts, ability to communicate ideas, teamwork, and creativity.

Global Social Entrepreneurship Competition, February 25 - 29, 2008
A business plan competition that invites students from around the world to find creative and commercially sustainable ways to reduce poverty through new business development.

Global Business Case Competition, April 7 - 13, 2008
An annual international case competition that brings together undergraduate university students from the United States and 12 - 14 other countries to compete in a fast-paced and challenging business case study. This week-long event provides students a chance to build cross-cultural relationships, experience the city of Seattle and most importantly, participate in a real-world case study to analyze and develop a business recommendation within 48 hours.

National Forum on Trade Policy
The National Forum on Trade Policy (NFTP) is an annual CIBER conference that brings together business leaders, federal and state policy makers, and leading and higher-education experts. A prestigious national event, the forum was conceived in 2003 and is now on a national rotation among CIBER institutions. Prior locations have included UNC, Duke, UT Austin, the University of Washington. The 2008 conference will be hosted will be hosted by the San Diego State University in partnership with the University of Washington.  More information will be available by early Summer 2008.
