The Global Business Center’s mission is to build students’ global business expertise.  With this goal in mind, the center offers a wide range of programs to graduate students, such as the Global Business Program Certificate, the Global Business Forum, Global Business Study Tours, and MBA exchange programs.  Through our federally-funded CIBER grant and corporate sponsorships, we are able to provide students a premier group of programs that takes their studies beyond the classroom and out across the globe.

Graduate Program & Resource Offerings

Global Business Program Certificate - The Global Business Certificate, an academic MBA certificate option, combines several international activities and opportunities, serving as evidence of a student's preparation for and commitment to global business.

Global Business Forum - The Global Business Forum is a weekly speaker series featuring executives from private sector companies and non-profit organizations.

Global Business Study Tours - Global Business Study Tours are a unique business and educational program providing UW graduate students the opportunity to experience business and culture first-hand through personal meetings with executives, company visits, and cultural excursions.

Exchange Programs - The UW Global Business Center coordinates MBA exchange programs with 17 business schools around the world.  Students take courses in English and can transfer all earned credits back to UW.

International Courses - Students interested in global business can select from a variety of elective courses in the Foster School, at an MBA exchange partner school, or in another UW graduate department.

Global Social Entrepreneurship Competition - GSEC is a business plan competition that invites students from around the world to find creative and commercially sustainable ways to reduce poverty through new business development.

Business Language Study - MBAs have the opportunity to enhance or develop foreign language skills by enrolling in a UW foreign language course, either during the academic year or in one of the summer intensive foreign language classes.
