International Business Practicum

Students in the CISB Program put learning to use through the International Business Practicum requirement, applying the concepts learned in the classroom to real-world international business situations. The practicum may be satisfied by taking a four-credit internship with international business content or one of the four-credit courses listed here.

Courses Satisfying the International Business Practicum Requirement

I BUS 470 -
International Trade Operations
Student teams are given the assignment of developing an export plan for the product(s) of a partner company. Market development, trade financing, regulation, logistics and tariff issues are taught in the classroom and then applied in developing new international customers for the partner company. All the teams work on the same project, resulting in 3-4 very comprehensive reports developed from different approaches to the project.
