CISB Overseas Experience

The best way to understand a country, its people and its business culture is to live, work, or study there. For this reason, all CISB students are required to study or work abroad for at least ten weeks after completion of first and second-year college-level foreign language or the equivalent. Study abroad coursework should be taken primarily in the target language. US track students take a ten-week domestic internship in lieu of studying or working abroad.

All CISB students must meet with both the CISB Program Adviser and a Business School Academic Counselor to plan for their international experience as soon as they are admitted to the CISB Program.

Benefits of overseas experience:

  • Expand your cultural horizons
  • Further your educational and professional development through foreign knowledge and experience
  • Improve your language and interpersonal communication skills
  • Enhance your employment prospects
  • Develop self-reliance, appreciation of diversity and flexibility
