The Quantitative Methods (QMeth) area is concerned with the theory and application of mathematical and statistical tools in the modeling and analysis of business problems. The QMeth curriculum includes courses in decision analysis, simulation, mathematical programming, statistical forecasting models, statistical decision support modeling, and data analysis.

The QMeth area is designed to provide a broad introduction to the topics mentioned above. Students are encouraged to take at least one elective course in each of these areas: Operations Research, Statistics, and an area of application in business. Then, depending on the student's interests, he or she may pursue a broader program by taking additional courses in each area, possibly supplemented by courses from other departments.
