HEADER: Fees, Deadlines and Financial Aid

Application Deadlines
Applications are accepted throughout the year, and fully qualified applicants are admitted year-round on a first-come, first-served basis. The early application deadline for classes entering in the fall of the same year is February 1. Final application deadline is May 1. Late applications are handled on a space-available basis.

Paying for your MBA
The fee for the 21 month program starting in fall 2008 is $71,500. The program fee includes textbooks and course materials, meals and lodging at residence sessions, parking and lunch on class days, food and refreshments at hosted social functions, and traditional courtesies. For monthly North America students, lodging is provided during class sessions (students requesting a single room will be responsible for half the lodging expenses).

Students in all fee-based programs, including this degree, are not eligible for the tuition exemption program, institutional tuition waivers or the Undergraduate/Graduate University Grant programs, including the Husky Promise program. Read more information on fee-based programs.

Financial aid

THERE ARE TWO EXECUTIVE MBA LOAN SOURCES:

  • Federal Stafford Direct Loan
  • Private MBA Tuition Loan

THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT YOU CAN BORROW PER YEAR IS:

  • $18,500 through the Federal Stafford Direct Loan program
  • Up to the full program fee amount through the Private MBA Tuition Loan Program

Who is eligible to apply

Most University of Washington Executive MBA students qualify to borrow $18,500 per year through the Federal Stafford Direct Loan Program. To apply, you must be a permanent U.S. resident, must not be in default on a prior federal student loan, and must have registered for the draft if required by law to do so. Otherwise, this program is not based on need, income, or credit. Depending on credit worthiness, EMBA students may also qualify to borrow up to the full amount of the program fee through the private MBA Tuition Loan Program. Foreign residents may apply for this loan with a U.S. citizen co-signer.

How to apply

To apply for a Federal Stafford Direct Loan, fill out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on line at www.fafsa.ed.gov or on paper and submit it to the address included on the application. If you are offered admission to the Executive MBA Program and your FAFSA is approved, the University of Washington will send you a financial aid eligibility letter and a promissory note asking how much of the $18,500 annual maximum you wish to borrow. You will need the University of Washington’s federal financial aid code for the FAFSA: 003798.
