Holiday VIP Recruiting Reception
Each year in December, the EMBA Program holds a special VIP Recruiting Reception at a festive downtown Seattle location (past venues have included the Rainier Club and the Sorrento Hotel). The “price of admission” for Alumni and current EMBA Students is to bring a colleague who may be interested in becoming an EMBA Student. The event agenda includes a Program Overview and comments from distinguished Alumni on their EMBA experiences (previous speakers have included: Mic Dinsmore; Michael Fancher, Evan Kaplan; Lisa Stevens and Ken Hey). Faculty often join us as well (Bob Bowen, Karma Hadjimichalakis, Rocky Higgins, Andy Siegel).

Karma Hadjimichalakis’ Economic Update Breakfast
What better way to make sure you have the latest information and insights on important domestic and global economic issues than at a fall breakfast with our own (tireless) Principal Lecturer of Economics, Karma Hadjimichalakis? Karma provides her unique perspective on current global economic issues and events, as well as forecast (augmented by husband Professor Michael Hadjimichalakis).

Alumni Summer Barbeque
In August, we hold an after-work BBQ to reunite program alumni and faculty. For the past 2 years, we’ve combined our Alumni BBQ with a Summer Open House recruiting event. It is great to see so many alums and prospects!

Belina celebrates 20 years with EMBA!
On Friday, August 11, 2006 Belina Makonnen celebrated 20 years with the EMBA Program! 60 Business School faculty, staff and EMBA Program alumni along with her family joined us for a surprise celebration for Belina. Louise Kapustka, Pat Bettin, Karma Hadjimichalakis, Bronica Sam, Vern Buck and Rocky Higgins shared their funny and poignant experiences working with Belina over the years. Executive MBA 20th Year Celebration and All Class Reunion
The EMBA Program held a 20 Year Celebration and All Class Reunion on Thursday, May 19, 2005 at the Washington Athletic Club. Approximately 200 people attended including alumnae from most classes and 17 faculty as well as current and former program staff. Louise Kapustka (Director) and Jan Monti (Former EMBA Director) emceed the event which included sharing EMBA memories (several storyboards were displayed throughout the room) and recognized Bill Alberts, Kasi Ramanathan and Jan Monti for their contribution to the EMBA Program. Celebration of Leaders (2002 – 2004)
From 2002 to 2004, Celebration of Leaders events were held each spring to recognize UW Executive MBA alumni who have shown extraordinary leadership in the areas of business, entrepreneurship and community.
