The following answers address commonly asked admissions questions:
When are applications accepted?
Applications are accepted throughout the year, however applications
must be received by the end of September in order to be considered
for admission in January.
How much does the program cost?
- Yonsei University - Korean Won 16,500,000
- University of Washington - $37,000
(While at University of Washington, the GEMBA program fees include required
textbooks and class materials, registration services, parking
and traditional courtesies.)
What is NOT included in the program fees?
Housing, travel, and incidental costs (e.g., health insurance,
phone calls, laundry, souvenirs) are not included in the program
fees. Students whose TOEFL score is below 237 must take additional
English language classes, paid by the student, to fulfill
the UW language requirements.
Can anyone apply to the GEMBA program?
Yes. Anyone who meets all application requirements and submits
all required documentation are considered for the program.
Prospective students must reside in Seoul, Korea for the first
six months of the program and 12 months in Seattle.
Is an undergraduate degree required for admissions?
Yes. A bachelors degree from a four-year university
or its equivalent (open for all majors) is required.
Is the GMAT (Graduate Management Aptitude Test) required?
No. The GMAT is not required for admission.
Is the TOEFL required?
Yes. An official minimum TOEFL score of 213 (computer based test) or 550 (paper based test) is required
(some ESL classes waived with a score of 237+).
What is the TOEFL?
The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) measures
the ability of nonnative speakers of English to use and understand
North American English as it is used in college and university
settings.
Is an interview required?
Yes. Yonsei University interviews all prospective applicants.
All interviews are done in English.
Are there any prerequisites?
There are no specific course prerequisites needed to be admitted
into the GEMBA program.
How much emphasis is placed on the undergraduate GPA?
The admission committee evaluates each section of the application
carefully. At times, we may refer to your undergraduate coursework
for evidence of previous academic achievement or demonstration
of strong quantitative skills. The admission committee understands
that most applicants have been out of school for some time,
so therefore, we will place more emphasis on an applicants
career progression and achievements. We will also consider
any post-secondary education experience as well.
Is financial aid available?
There is no university financial aid available. Students
who wish to receive loans to cover the all or part of the

Is there a difference in the diploma received for the
GEMBA than from the other MBA Programs?
No. Your diploma will state a University of Washington MBA
degree granted.
Can I come in to visit a GEMBA class?
Definitely. We invite you to contact our office to arrange
for a class visit and have the opportunity to meet with current
GEMBA students and faculty. Classes normally meet on Monday
