Software

Many users wonder why we're using such old software in the Business School. While the reasons were valid and helped the Business School to realize standardization upon a single platform (Windows 2000 with Office 2000), we are rapidly moving towards a more modern standard. Many new computers are already running Windows XP, and the Business School is entering into a Microsoft Campus Agreement which will soon offer updated software to all, including:

Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Microsoft Word 2003
Microsoft Excel 2003
Microsoft PowerPoint 2003
Microsoft Outlook 2003
Microsoft Access 2003
Microsoft FrontPage 2003
Microsoft Publisher 2003
Microsoft Visual Studio .net

These updated applications will tentatively begin to be deployed in late February 2004. Once the Business School is, in July 2004, absorbed into the campus-wide Microsoft Campus Agreement, we tentatively plan to add:

Microsoft Project 2003
Microsoft Visio 2003
