MBA Curriculum
The UW MBA curriculum options are as diverse, complex and exciting as careers in the real business world. Our graduates assume leadership roles across sectors and around the globe. From established international corporations to nimble start-ups, high tech to high touch, UW MBA graduates develop the tools to be effective leaders through a curriculum rich in business theory, practice and teamwork.
Year One offers an integrated core of fundamental business concepts, skills and tools. This core wraps modules of varying length together for a solid foundation in the individual subjects — accounting, finance, marketing, operations management, and strategy — and an understanding of how they interrelate.
In Spring quarter, you select electives that let you explore subjects related to your second-year concentration. These classes also help you acquire specific knowledge and hands-on skills that you can apply immediately in an optional summer internship.
Year Two lets you build a concentration of courses unique to your personal career objectives. Develop greater expertise in the areas directly related to your post-MBA degree career, while you increase your ability to take on cross-functional assignments. In addition to elective coursework, you complete final required classes in ethics and macroeconomics.
