Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Degree Requirements

We’re happy to answer your questions if you don’t find them listed in our FAQ section. Contact us at mba@u.washington.edu or 1-866-778-9622.

How many credits do I need in order to graduate?
You must take between 90 and 93 credits to complete your MBA degree — however, when determining if you’ve completed your degree requirements, the MBA Program Office looks more at the number of classes than the number of electives. Review the MBA Student Handbook for your class for more details on your specific degree requirements.

How can I find out what requirements I have remaining to complete toward my MBA degree?
Send an e-mail to mbaregis@u.washington.edu with a request for a summary of your remaining requirements.

Besides classes, what other requirements must I complete to obtain my MBA?
In addition to classes, you must complete three practical experiences and two international perspective activities. Learn more about these requirements on the Curriculum page.

Will my internship/case competition/volunteer work/etc. satisfy a practical experience or international perspective requirement?
Some guidelines on what activities can count toward these additional degree requirements are given in your MBA Student Handbook. To request that the MBA Program Office consider an activity not listed in the handbook to satisfy one of these requirements, complete and submit to the MBA Program Office a Professional Development Activity form along with appropriate documentation about the activity.
