BUSINESS SCHOOL TRANSFORMATIONAL COMMITTEE

The 2012 Transformational Committee has developed a framework for transforming the UW Business School into a truly extraordinary learning community as we realize our goals for new facilities. What is necessary today to continue to advance our programs and reputation is a more refined, focused vision. A specific set of goals and planning guidelines will inform and support decision-makers as the School moves through what should be the most transformational period in our history. The School has a unique opportunity provided by the near-term move into new facilities. Dean Jiambalvo and the committee drafted a report, not as a detailed top-down plan to be executed as prescribed, but rather as an overarching set of priorities that builds on and extends the existing measures of success in the 2003-2008 strategic plan. The vision of the UW Business School is to be the best public business school in America. This is a long-term goal. It is not something that will be an immediate result of the realization of our current building plans in 2012. That said, we have no reason to give up valuable time waiting for the completion of new facilities before we set a course to achieve our goal. Great progress can and should be made over the next five years.

Dean Jiambalvo and members of the committee would like to meet with MBA Students to discuss this plan and receive your input and thoughts. They would like to meet with interested students on May 3 at 5:00pm in the Seminar Room in BAEEC. We hope many of you will be interested in participating in this discussion.
