SUMMER NOTES
This is the final edition of the MBA Newsletter for the 2007-08 academic year. Newsletters will be sent this summer on an "as-needed" basis only.
Summer Office Hours
The MBA Program Office and the Business Connections Center are open during the summer. Starting June 12th, the offices will be 8am-5 pm, M-F.
MBA Lounge Mailboxes
Before you depart campus for the summer, please take a moment to clean out your mailbox. Later this summer, the MBA Program Office staff will be reassigning the boxes and anything left in them will be discarded.

GRADUATION INFORMATION
Graduation Ceremony
Graduation will be held in Meany Hall for the Performing Arts, on Saturday, June 14. The schedule for the ceremony is as follows:
- 6:00pm Students check in and obtain instructions
- 6:30pm Doors open for guest seating
- 6:50pm Students line up for ceremonies
- 6:55pm Processional
- 7:00pm Ceremonies begin
- 8:45pm Recessional
- 8:45pm Reception (at By George)

Final Call for Graduation Guest Tickets
Tickets are available for pickup at the front desk of the MBA Program Office. If you would like to have your tickets mailed to you or need to make other alternate arrangements, please contact Linda directly.

GRADUATING STUDENTS
MBA Lounge Access
You will be able to access the MBA Lounge until late August/early September when your ID cards will be deactivated.
MBA Listservs
Your class listservs (evemba2008 and mba2008) will remain active indefinitely. Individual email addresses will be removed from the lists once they no longer work. We will remove all graduated students from mbabull and mbamail unless you request to remain on thosse listservs. You may send your request to mbaweb.
Alumni Benefits
Stay connected! Whether you stay in the Northwest, move across the country or go abroad, there are many opportunities to keep in touch with alumni, students, and the school. For more details, visit the alumni website and don't forget to sign up for the lifetime UW email service. Also, this is your first opportunity to attend the Foster School of Business Alumni BBQ! Mark your calendar for June 16 - 5:00pm at the Urban Horticulture Center and please RSVP.

ACADEMIC ANNOUNCEMENTS
- To register for Summer Elective Classes: Email mbaregis to request a space. Class spaces will be allotted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
- Non-MBA Elective Classes: If you are looking for additional course options this summer, you can access the full UW Time Schedule for Summer for possibilities. Keep in mind, you need to get these approved by submitting a Non-MBA Course Request Form.
- Tuition & fees for Summer Elective Courses: For Full-time MBA students, please go the University Summer 2008 Tuition Rates webpage. For Evening MBA students, tuition is as follows: If taking a 3-credit class only (such as the MGMT 500 CORE class): $3,046.00 plus fees; if taking 5 total credits: $4,569.00 plus fees; if taking 7 total credits: $5,331.00 plus fees.
Summer MBA classes at UWT
Options for summer MBA classes at the UW Tacoma, pending instructor approval on a case-by-case basis, include:
Term A (June 23-July 23)
- TACCT 520 International Accounting Seminar, (4 credits), Shahrokh Saudagaran. Meets Friday 6-8pm on 6/27/08. Saturdays: 9-5pm on 6/28, 7/12, 7/19, 7/26.
- TMGMT 530 Organization Design, (4 credits), Jill Purdy. Meets M/T/Th, 6-8:30pm on June 23, 24, 26, 30, July 1, 3, 7, 8, 10, 14, 15, 17, 21, 22.
Term B (July 24-August 22)
- TMGMT 553 Leadership in a Changing World, (4 credits), Don Summers. Meets M/W, 6-9:15pm on July 24, 28, 30, August 4, 6, 11, 13, 18.

Autumn Quarter 2008 Elective Classes
Elective classes for Autumn quarter 2008 can be requested on a space-availalbe basis. Please email your requests to mbaregis@u.washington.edu.
If you have questions about your autumn schedule or would like to have your remaining degree requirements checked, please email mbaregis@u.washington.edu.
New Course for Fall Quarter : Please note that ENTRE 530 A/B Entrepreneurial Decision-Making will be offered fall quarter on Thursday evenings from 6:30-9:20pm. For more information, contact the CIE office. To register for this class, please email your request to mbaregis@u.washington.edu.
Reminder to Full-time MBA students:
You must register for Autumn classes by June 22 to maintain priority in classes. On June 23, all elective class spaces for which you have not registered will be released for reallocation. |
