GRADUATION INFORMATION

Please Pick Up your Graduation Guest Tickets
Tickets are available for pickup at the front desk of the MBA Program Office. In addition, Linda Bruen will be distributing tickets in the MBA Lounge this Tuesday and Wednesday, June 3 & 4th from 12:30-1:30pm. Evening students: Please note that the MBA Program Office is open 8:00am-6:00pm Monday through Thursday this week and Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm. Next week's office schedule: Monday and Tuesday - 8:00am-6:00pm, Wednesday through Friday - 8:00am-5:00pm. If you would like to have your tickets mailed to you or need to make other alternate arrangements, please contact Linda directly.  

We will distribute tickets only to students who have either ordered a cap and gown for the ceremony or who have confirmed with Linda that they have obtained regalia from an alum.  Also note that we will distribute tickets only to the graduating student or to their designate with written permission.  Please direct any questions regarding graduation tickets to Linda

REGISTRATION & CLASSES

Autumn Electives Open on a Space-Available Basis
Autumn quarter electives are open on a space-available basis for all FT & Evening MBA students. Please email mbaregis with your course requests (remember to include course section preference).

Evening MBA Student Registration for Autumn
In mid-June, the MBA Program Office will be emailing evening MBA students (who are taking classes in Autumn quarter) a message which indicates the courses we plan to register you for, based on required core courses, the results of elective bidding and your requests for classes since the results went out. When you receive this email, please review your classes and contact us, by emailing mbaregis@u.washington.edu, if you discover any problems with the classes listed in that email.

If you have questions about the registration process or would like to have your remaining degree requirements checked, please email mbaregis@u.washington.edu.

Global Business Forum courses (BA 545) for Autumn Quarter
If you wish to enroll in this course, please request a class space by emailing mbaregis@u.washington.edu. In your email, indicate which MBA Program you are in and what BA 545 section you want to enroll in. Add codes for the classes are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Changes to Tentative Schedule of Finance & Business Economics Electives for 2009-2010
There have been a few adjustments to the Finance & Business Economics elective offerings for Winter and Spring quarter of 2009-2010. To see the changes, please go to the Elective Course Schedule page on the MBA website.

UW EVENTS & ANNOUNCEMENTS 

Environmental Management Certificate Program:
Are you interested in learning how business and the environment interact? The University of Washington’s Environmental Management Program accepts graduate students from across the University to tackle real-world problems with profound policy, scientific, and business ramifications. The program consists of

  • Three core courses in the areas of Environmental Policy, Business and the Environment, and Science Application.
  • A two-quarter-long Keystone Project with a community partner to address contemporary problems in environmental management.
  • One elective course to further students’ knowledge relevant to their academic and career goals.

Save the Date! GTTL Studies 15th Annual Conference, June 8, 2:30-6:30pm
The 15th Annual Global Trace, Transportation and Logistics Studies Conference, "Competitive Catalysts: Balancing Recovery, Infrastructure, Trade and Sustainability," is scheduled for Monday, June 8th, at the UW's Kane Hall, Walker-Ames Room. Additional information about the conference is available on the GTTL Web site.

Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans
The Soros Fellowships for New Americans support thirty individuals a year for up to two years of graduate study in any subject anywhere in the US. Students already in graduate study are eligible, though not past their 2nd year. The fellowships provide $20,000 in maintenance and half tuition wherever the fellow attends. Candidates must be either holders of Green Cards, naturalized citizens, or children of two naturalized citizen parents. For more details go to their website.
