Scholarships for Continuing Full-time Students

  • The 2008-09 MBA Scholarship Application is now available.  The priority application deadline is April 15.  You should complete the online scholarship form and submit your supplementary materials (explained on the website) to mbaschol.  (Please note:  Most 2007-08 scholarships will not be automatically renewed, and you need to reapply for 2008-09 funds.)  If you have any questions about scholarship, email mbaschol.

  • McGowan Scholarship: The application for the McGowan Scholarship is now available. This $18,000 scholarship is awarded to one MBA student in the fulltime program. The 2007-08 recipient is Carrie Pederson--if you have questions about the scholarship, please ask Carrie. This scholarship requires the student to write 2 essays and have a faculty member submit a recommendation letter.  The application deadline is April 3.  (Note that this deadline is during the first week of spring quarter, so you should ask your faculty sponsor now to prepare a recommendation letter to be submitted to our office no later than April 3.

Summer Health Insurance--Sign up Now!
If you want to ensure that your UW student insurance benefits will be available to you this coming summer, now is the time to sign up! The only ways to ensure you are covered during summer quarter are (1) register for classes during summer OR (2) sign up on MyUW for Annual Insurance by the 7th day of spring quarter. (Note that if you signed up for annual coverage earlier in the year, you will already be covered for summer.) When you sign up for annual insurance, you will be covered until the start of next autumn quarter.

You may want to consider this if you will be working in an internship that doesn't provide benefits or will be taking an extended break before starting a full-time job later in the summer or fall. There have been students in the past who faced serious financial consequences because they did not sign up for insurance and then had significant health issues arise during the summer. For more details about the Student Health Insurance Plan visit their website.

Board Fellows Application Due Date
Board Fellows applications and resumes are due April 1, 2008. For those of you who are going on study tour, we encourage you to get them in before you leave. For more information and/or questions, please contact Jerilyn Young at jerilyn@u.washington.edu.
