ACADEMIC ANNOUNCEMENTS

REGISTRATION

Spring Electives & Advanced Core Options Open on a Space-Available Basis
Spring Quarter Electives & Advanced Core Options are open on a space-available basis for all FT & Evening MBA students. Please email mbaregis with your course requests (remember to include course section preference).

Spring Quarter Low Enrollment Electives & Advanced Core Options Courses
The Spring quarter class enrollments will be evaluated early this week and decisions will be announced regarding any class cancellations. If you are enrolled in a course that is cancelled, the Program Office will email you immediately and work with you to find a replacement course.

Full-time MBA Student Registration for Spring
The deadline to register for your advanced core and/or elective classes is this Sunday, March 8. If you do not register by March 8, using the add code information provided to you, we will assume that you no longer want to register for the classes(es), and we will invalidate your add codes and assign your space(s) to another student. If you encounter any problems or issues when you try to register for your classes, email mbaregis@u.washington.edu by the end of the day on Sunday and we will hold your spaces in classes until the problem is resolved.

Evening MBA Student Registration for Spring
Later this week, each Evening MBA student will receive an email indicating which courses the MBA Program Office plans to register you for, based on required core courses, the results of elective and advanced core options bidding and your requests for classes since the results went out. Please let us know by Sunday, March 8, by emailing mbaregis@u.washington.edu, if you discover any problems with the classes listed in that email. The MBA Program Office will begin registering you for your classes on Monday, March 9 and will assume your list of classes is correct if we do not hear from you.

If you have questions about the registration process or would like to have your remaining degree requirements checked, please email mbaregis@u.washington.edu.

Spring quarter Global Business Forums will be focusing on the following world regions: BA 545 A/B - Brazil & the America's, BA 545 C/D - India & South Asia

If you wish to enroll in this course, please request a class space by emailing mbaregis@u.washington.edu. In your email, indicate which MBA Program you are in and what BA 545 section you want to enroll in. Add codes for the class are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

GRADUATION

Planning to graduate Winter Quarter?
If you wish to graduate at the end of winter quarter but have not yet filed your online graduation application, you must do so by March 8. You will also have to pay a late graduation filing fee of $250.

MBA Graduation Ceremony 2009
The graduation ceremony for full-time and evening MBA students is scheduled for Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 7:00pm. You can find information about the ceremony on the Graduation website. Note for International students: If you have family members who wish to attend the graduation ceremony and need letters to support their visa application, please contact Linda Bruen.

Graduating Student Survey 2009: Guest Tickets (and more)...
To help us plan for your graduation ceremony, we ask that each student who has or will be graduating between Autumn 2008 and Autumn 2009 complete a short survey. We ask that every student complete the survey, even if you are not planning to attend the ceremony. This survey will provide us with information about how you want your name to appear in the graduation program and how many guests you wish to bring to the ceremony. The information you enter on the survey will also help us determine how many guest tickets will be available to each student. At the present time, we anticipate we will have 4 guest tickets per graduating student, but we will use the survey results to determine if extra tickets will be available.

We ask that you complete the survey no later than May 15. If you do not complete the survey by that date, we will assume you do NOT plan to attend the ceremony and will reallocate your guest tickets to other students.
