ACADEMIC ANNOUNCEMENTS

Full-time Class of 2008 MBA Elective Registration for Spring
The deadline to register for your assigned elective classes is next Sunday, March 9. If you do not register by March 9 for some (or all) of your classes using the add code information sent to you last week, we will assume that you no longer want to register for that (those) classes(es) and will invalidate your add code and assign your space to another student. If you encounter any problems or issues when you try to register for your classes, email mbaregis@u.washington.edu by the end of the day on Sunday and we will hold your spaces in classes until the problem is resolved. (Note that we do not yet have add codes for ACCTG 579, but will send those to you as soon as they are available. We will hold spaces in that class until this issue is resolved.)

Evening and Global MBA Registration for Spring
Later this week, each Evening and Global MBA student will receive an email indicating which courses the MBA Program Office plans to register you for, based on required core courses, the results of elective and advanced core options bidding and your requests for classes since the results went out. Please let us know by Sunday, March 9, by emailing mbaregis@u.washington.edu, if you discover any problems with the classes listed in that email. The MBA Program Office will begin registering you for your classes on Monday, March 10 and will assume your list of classes is correct if we do not hear from you.

Students Assigned to MKTG 579 E/F & MKTG 579 G/H:
We have received many questions from students about the Advanced Core Options classes--many of you think you are registering for the wrong section. The UW system was showing the wrong day/time for MKTG 579 E/F. The class assignments sent to you earlier correctly state that MKTG 579 E/F is TTH 1:30-3:20pm and MKTG 579 G/H is T 6:00-9:30pm. The UW system has now been updated to reflect the correct information, too. In addition, for some reason, MKTG 579 E/F was incorrectly listed on the UW system as a 2 credit class. That has also been changed to 4 credits.

The other advanced core options classes have been updated to reflect the days/times they will meet, as well as the assigned rooms (if it doesn't show the classroom, read the comments section).

Summer Health Insurance--Sign up Now!
If you want to ensure that your UW student insurance benefits will be available to you this coming summer, now is the time to sign up! The only ways to ensure you are covered during summer quarter are (1) register for classes during summer OR (2) sign up on MyUW for Annual Insurance by the 7th day of spring quarter. (Note that if you signed up for annual coverage earlier in the year, you will already be covered for summer.) When you sign up for annual insurance, you will be covered until the start of next autumn quarter.

You may want to consider this if you will be working in an internship that doesn't provide benefits or will be taking an extended break before starting a full-time job later in the summer or fall. There have been students in the past who faced serious financial consequences because they did not sign up for insurance and then had significant health issues arise during the summer. For more details about the Student Health Insurance Plan visit their website.
