Diversity
The Foster MBA Program is committed to increasing the enrollment of underrepresented minority students and supporting them once enrolled to become the business leaders of tomorrow. The Class of 2008 includes individuals from 19 countries and from 18 states. Thirty-four percent of students came from outside the U.S., and there is a diverse mix of students from different cultures within the United States.
UW Diversity Resources
As a whole, the UW is committed to building a culturally diverse faculty and staff, and strongly encourages student applications from underrepresented minorities.
- GO-MAP, the Graduate Opportunities & Minority Achievement Program is dedicated to graduate excellence through diversity. Highlights include Diversity Resources and Financial Support.
- The UW Diversity Web site is dedicated to promoting and enhancing campus wide diversity. Highlights include UW Diversity in the News and a Diversity Calendar of events. The UW Office of Minority Affairs provides outreach and academic support services for University of Washington students, such as the Minority/Diversity Scholarships Search for underrepresented minority students from American Indian, Native American, African-American, Hispanic, and Asian/Pacific Islander backgrounds.
- The mission of the Equal Opportunity Office is to ensure University compliance with the law and spirit of equal opportunity and affirmative action.
Business and Economic Development
Many Foster MBAs contribute their knowledge to stimulate business expansion in developing communities through the Foster School's Business and Economic Development Center. From internships and board fellowships to strategic planning and consulting projects, MBAs increase their skills while helping ethnically diverse organizations grow.
