Adding, Dropping, or Withdrawing
As you make adjustments to your class schedule each quarter, keep in mind that the UW has very strict deadlines for adding, dropping, and withdrawing from classes. Missing these deadlines can impact you financially as well as academically. The MBA Program Office reminds students of the specific dates for each quarter’s registration deadlines in the MBA Newsletter.
- All academic deadlines for adding, dropping, and withdrawing from classes can be found on the UW Academic Calendar.
- During the late registration period, all schedule changes are made on MyUW. Once the final deadlines have passed, schedule changes must be petitioned through the Registrar’s Office in Schmitz Hall.
- To avoid a late registration fee, students should register for classes before the first day of the quarter.
- The add/drop period for each quarter runs through the first week of classes; after that you will incur a late change of registration fee and possible tuition forfeiture.
- You have two weeks at the beginning of each quarter to drop a class (even if the class sessions start later in the quarter.) If you choose to drop a class after the drop deadline, you must use your annual drop.
- In some cases, students may request a hardship withdrawal from a class or a complete withdrawal from all classes.
- If you do not plan to enroll for classes during Autumn, Winter, or Spring quarter, you need to apply for on-leave status before the quarter starts in order to keep your student status at the UW.
