Mini-Case Competition

As part of the Management 510 (Leadership Development) curriculum, all first-year students will participate in a mini-case competition that will be held at the beginning of Winter quarter, on January 3 and 4, 2008. Note that the official start of quarter on the UW calendar is January 7. This event is mandatory, so please plan your holidays accordingly.

Thursday, January 3
8:00-8:30 am
  • Continental Breakfast in MBA Lounge
  • Room assignments posted

8:30-9:30 am

  • Study teams work on goals and norms in their assigned Balmer classrooms
9:45 am
  • Case is distributed in MBA Lounge
9:45 am onwards
  • Teams work on case in assigned Balmer classroom
Noon
  • Boxed lunches provided in MBA Lounge
10:00 pm
Friday, January 4
8:00-8:30 am
  • Continental Breakfast in MBA Lounge
  • Team presentation schedule posted
8:30-11:50 am
  • There will be 5 teams presenting in each of 4 rooms. Leadership Fellows and faculty will be judging. A winner will be chosen from each room and announced at the end of the debrief session.
11:30 am - 1:00 pm
  • Lunch provided in MBA Lounge
1:00-3:00 pm
  • Debrief Session and announcement of winning teams (Boeing Auditorium)
