Finalizing Elective Registration

After you complete the elective course pre-registration process and receive bid results, you can proceed to register, following the instructions on this page. Make sure you’re aware of the Registration Deadlines for Autumn 2009. For information on adding or dropping classes, and on wait lists and other special cases, read about adjusting your schedule.

The information on this page refers to Autumn 2009 bid results, enrollment procedures, and registration deadlines. Please read it carefully.

Bid Results


After elective course pre-registration is complete, you will receive bid results in an e-mail that will indicate one of the outcomes in the table below, for each class you bid on. You can also view an overall summary of bid results (pdf) for Autumn 2009.

Enrolled OR a 5-digit number

You have permission to enroll in the class.
Full-time MBA: If you receive a five-digit add code, enroll through MyUW. If a class says Enrolled, but no five-digit add code, one will be sent to you shortly.
Evening MBA: Students will be registered by the MBA Program Office. See Registration Instructions below for specific details.

Not Enrolled

There are several reasons you might receive this message: (1) You were not enrolled in this class because you already have permission to enroll in the maximum number of credits awarded through the pre-registration process. (2) You have not completed the required prerequisite for this class. (3) You have a time conflict between this course and another assigned course. (4) You have already been assigned to a different section of this class. See Adjusting Your Schedule below for details.

The maximum credit allotments for the various programs are listed below. You can request to be enrolled in additional courses after bidding ends.

Full-time Class of 2010: enrolled in a maximum of 16 credits
Evening Class of 2010: enrolled in a maximum of 10 credits


Class Full

All spaces in the class have been allotted and you do not have permission to register for the class.

If all spaces were allotted, you are placed on the course wait list in the order determined by your bid points. The following classes filled during bidding:

  • BECON 501 A/B Macroeconomics & Global Issues (TTH 3:30-5:20pm)
  • FIN 552 A/B Problems in Corporate Planning & Financing (MW 8:30-10:20am)
  • OPMGT 535 A/B Global Logistics Management (W 6:00-9:30pm)
  • QMETH 551 C/D Modeling with Spreadsheets (M 6:00-9:30pm)
Class Cancelled This class was cancelled due to low enrollment. If possible, you were offered the opportunity to enroll in an alternate class section.

Registration Instructions for Full-time Students

  • Once you receive the bid results e-mail with elective assignments, you may register in classes through MyUW, beginning May 8.
  • To retain seats in the classes awarded to you through the bidding process, enroll in the classes by Sunday, June 21 or your space(s) in the class(es) may be given to other students.
Registration Instructions for Evening MBA Students
  • During the week of May 18, the MBA Program Office will send out an email listing the classes we will register you for based on bidding results and classes requested since then.
  • If you decide not to take any courses in Autumn quarter, or decide to take courses in addition to those initially awarded in the bidding process, or decide not to take the class(es) awarded in the bidding process, notify the MBA Program Office by May 24 .
  • Beginning May 25, the MBA Program Office will register students for the courses awarded through the bidding process and additional classes you requested since then.
  • Additional adjustments may be made to your schedule up until the start of Autumn quarter.
  • The MBA Program Office will begin entering tuition charges for Autumn 2009 in mid-September.

Registration Instructions for non-bidding classes
  • BA 545 Global Business Forums: If you wish to take this course, e-mail mbaregis beginning May 18 to request a space in your preferred class section (evening MBA students) or to get an add code (full-time MBA students).
  • ENTRE 579 A/B Environmental Innovation Challenge: If you are taking this course, e-mail Pam Tufts to get an add code. Evening MBA students should forward that code to mbaregis to be enrolled in the class.

Adjusting Your Schedule

  • Adding Classes: Beginning Monday, May 11 , you may contact mbaregis@u.washington.edu to request a spot in additional MBA courses for which you were eligible to bid. Available seats are distributed on a first-come/first-served basis. Requests received before May 11 are discarded. All MBA students may request seats in elective classes beginning Monday, May 18 .
  • Dropping Classes: Please notify mbaregis@u.washington.edu if you decide not to enroll in all the classes awarded to you during bidding to allow reallocation of the space to other students.
  • Wait Lists: These are maintained for those classes that fill during the bidding process or that fill with requests after bidding ends. The lists are monitored until September 18. Wait lists are then given to the course instructors to use on the first day of course instruction.

Registration Deadlines for Autumn 2009

It is your responsibility to adhere to the registration deadlines. If you have problems registering by any of these deadlines please contact mbaregis@u.washington.edu before the deadline has passed.


May 11

Full-time Class of 2010 and Evening Class of 2010 students can request available seats or add their names to wait lists for courses in which they were eliglible to bid. Please email requests to mbaregis@u.washington.edu

May 18

All MBA students can request a seat in available elective classes by e-mailing mbaregis@u.washington.edu

May 24

Evening MBA students: Deadline to inform MBA Program Office of adjustments to your Autumn quarter schedule

May 25

Evening MBA students: MBA Program Office will start to enroll you for Autumn quarter classes

June 1 Wait lists/unfilled class spaces open for non-MBA students

June 21

Full-time students: Deadline to register for classes through MyUW to guarantee you do not lose your seat in the course

Oct 6

Last day to add/drop or change grading options via Registrar's Office or MBA Program staff without incurring a fee
