Evening MBA CORE Classes

First-Year courses:

ACCTG 501 Managerial

MW 7:50-9:30pm: 3/26-6/8
class does not meet on: 3/28, 4/9, 4/11, 4/16, 4/18, 4/23 and 4/25
MKTG 501 Marketing Management
4 credits
MW 6:00-7:40pm: 3/26-6/8
class meets from 6-9:20pm on: 4/9 and 4/23
class does not meet on: 4/18 and 4/25
MGMT 510 Professional Development in Leadership Communication
April 18 and 25, 6-9:20pm You won't be enrolled in the course until Spring Quarter 2008, but these sessions will be part of your course grade.

Elective classes: registration in elective classes is on a space available basis. You may request a spot in an elective class beginning Thursday, February 22 at 8am by emailing mbaregis. You must have completed or waived the course prerequisites to be eligible to take an elective class.

Possible spring quarter elective classes for first year evening MBA students are: BCMU 510, MGMT 545, 546 and 579. MGMT 548 and MGMT 549 are options, if you have taken MGMT 547.

Second-Year courses:

Elective Class specific courses will depend on the bidding process 2-4 credits varies varies

In addition to MGMT 505, you are scheduled to take a 2-credit bridge elective (you may substitute another 2-credit elective course if you want) and a 4-credit elective. You will bid on the 4-credit elective. The selection process for the bridge elective will be separate from your elective course--details will be provided at a later date.

Registration Deadlines:

There are numerous deadlines for spring registration. The complete list is available at: UW Academic Calendar. The key dates to keep in mind are:

Deadlines:
Week of Feb. 19 MBA Program Office will email Spring Quarter class list to evening students.
March 4 Deadline to inform MBA Program Office of Spring Quarter enrollment plans.
March 5 MBA Program Office begins enrolling evening students in Spring Quarter classes.
March 23 Last day to register for Spring Quarter without incurring late registration fee.
March 26 Class begin
March 30 Last day to adjust spring schedule without incurring late fees and possible tuition forfeiture. Requests should be sent to mbaregis by 2 pm.

Before the MBA Program Office Can Register You:

  1. Notify the MBA Program Office of any changes to your planned curriculum by sending an email to mbacore (i.e., if you plan to take the quarter off, are taking only one of your core classes, are picking up core classes from the previous year which you missed, etc.).

  2. Clear up any financial holds, library fines, parking tickets, etc. that will block your ability to be registered.

After You Are Registered:

  1. Decide on an insurance option: Both registration options ask you to choose a student insurance plan. Information is available at the Student Accident and Sickness Insurance Plan website.

  2. A day or two after the MBA Program Office registers you, check your registration via MyUW to make sure your registration is accurate.

On Leave Status

If you do not plan to take classes spring quarter, you need to take the steps to go on leave. Please contact the MBA Program Office to update us on your plans BEFORE the quarter begins. Once the quarter begins you are no longer eligible to go on leave and my need to reapply to the MBA Program to register for future quarters.
