Why pursue the University of Washington MPAcc – A&A
Program?
The Program is designed not merely to prepare students to
meet the educational requirements needed to become a Certified
Public Accountant in Washington; rather, and more importantly,
it is designed to give students a competitive edge when they
enter their careers in professional accounting.
The Program was developed with extensive input from practitioners
in public accounting and private industry, so that emphasis
is placed on developing those skills that are key to success
in professional accounting. The curriculum includes courses
that place heavy emphasis on risk evaluation and management,
teamwork, effective communications, marketing, and personal
selling. The curriculum and the individual course offerings
are updated regularly to ensure that the material stays current,
relevant, and challenging.
The University of Washington Michael G. Foster School of Business's Accounting Faculty
has been rated 5th of 1,300 US schools in research productivity.
Several of the faculty involved with the MPAcc – A&A
Program have had substantial professional accounting and business
experience along with excellent teaching credentials, permitting
them to share their “real-life” experiences and
bring real world perspective into the classroom.
