For the first time ever, Business Week has ranked part-time
business school programs in the U.S. The Evening MBA program
at the University of Washington’s Michael G. Foster
School of Business ranked 2nd among public schools and 16th
nationally.
“Part-time students now make up the majority of MBA
students in programs at the Foster School. I’m pleased
that Business Week’s new ranking acknowledges the changes
in the MBA world. We know we’ve had an outstanding
part-time MBA program for a long time. It’s terrific
to see that program finally get the recognition it deserves,” said
Dan Poston, executive director of MBA programs at the Foster
School of Business.
Business Week’s methodology was comprised of three
measures—two from students and one from business schools.
A part-time MBA student survey measured general student satisfaction.
Post-MBA information was taken from the student survey based
on the percentage of respondents who said their program was “completely” responsible
for them achieving their goals. Graduates also reported salary
increase information. Finally, an academic quality score
with six equally-weighted measures included average GMAT
score, average work experience, percentage of tenured faculty
teaching in the part-time program, average class size in
core classes, number of business electives available for
students, and the part-time program’s completion rate.
All six measures were provided by the schools. View more

Week rankings and methodology.
The part-time Evening
MBA Program is one of eight master’s
degree programs offered at the Foster
School of Business.
