Business Honors Events and Community

Throughout the academic year, the Undergraduate Programs Office coordinates a variety of events and programs for students in the Business Honors Program.

In addition to these formal events, students are encouraged to collaborate and interact by forming study groups and case competition teams and otherwise networking.

"Lunch with the Dean" Program
A few times each quarter, six Business Honors students are invited to have lunch with Dr. Steve Sefcik, Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs, Dr. Jarrad Harford, Faculty Director of the Business Honors program, Vikki Haag Day, Director of the Undergraduate Programs Office, and Sharmon Kollet, Business Honors Program Manager. This informal lunch provides time for the students to get to know the dean and program administrators and vice versa.

Dean's Breakfast Lecture Series
Several times per quarter, four Business Honors students are invited to attend the Dean's Breakfast Lecture Series, hosted by Dr. Jim Jiambalvo, Dean of the Business School. These events feature guest speakers from various Northwest companies and provide an opportunity for students to network with the local business community and others in the Business School.

Autumn, Winter and Spring Receptions
Each quarter the Undergraduate Programs Office hosts a reception for students in the Business Honors program. The agenda of the reception can vary, featuring guest speakers, presentations of honors students' work, social activities and more. Students in the program are encouraged to suggest ideas for reception activities.

Special Business Honors Workshops
Special workshops focusing on particular areas of interest to Business Honors program students are offered. These can focus on topics ranging from academic research to business etiquette to internships and more. Students in the program are encouraged to suggest ideas for future workshops.
